The ATX TV Festival has been going strong for 12 years now. Each year we look forward to seeing what amazing programming the festival will feature. We also love seeing what Austin celebs will be in attendance and what those visiting the ATX have to say about their experience in our city.

These Are The Most Austin Things We Saw, Heard and Did at ATX TV Festival 2023

  • Ted Danson stayed at the Driskill and while walking through the bar on Thursday evening, he said to one of our staffers, “Wow, this place is really neat.” He and his fellow cast members also got to experience Dumont’s Down Low when they shot a segment there for The Today Show.
  • The cast of Everyone Is Doing Great ate at Roaring Fork and Terry Black’s.
  • Cast members from Manifest dined at Eberley. Holly Taylor also went to Terry Black’s to eat
  • Outlander‘s Caitriona Balfe stayed at the Four Seasons and mentioned she had two margaritas on her night of arrival. No word on where.
  • Sadie Stanley from Cruel Summer enjoyed the shrimp and grits at Moonshine.
  • On the red carpet, we asked Bachelor Ben Higgins about his favorite Austin things. He told us he loves Barton Springs. He also told us that during this visit, he went to his very first Austin FC game and it blew his mind.
  • Kevin McHale from Glee waited an hour and a half in line at Franklin’s. He also ate at Terry Black’s and danced to Beyonce to Oilcan Harry’s.
  • The women of The Good Doctor ate at Lenoir. They also took part in a panel moderated by Austin.com’s Editor in Chief Dani Dudek.
  • Austinite Kendra Scott took part in a Shark Tank panel with fellow sharks Mark Cuban and Daymond John.
  • The Austin City Limits team gave us a behind-the-scenes look of the iconic, longest-lasting PBS television series.
  • Austinite Christy Carlson Romano took part in a variety of panels, including one highlighting the talented hosts of the podcasts produced by her company PodCo.
  • Dave and Odette Annable chatted with Sara Osburn about what it’s like building a career outside of LA, making Austin home, and finding “your people.”

Since we knew we’d be spending so much time downtown, we feared the commute back and forth each day. That’s why we decided to book a hotel! We stayed at the Hilton Austin. From the comfy beds, to the amazing views, great amenities and all around cool vibe, we definitely recommend a stay there. Check out their current specials and get more info here.
