You Can Find the Perfect Austin Shelter Dog for Your Family Thanks to a 13-year-old Student

You may have noticed, we’re kind of big fans of shelter animals here at Austin.com — we are reflective of the greater Austin community, after all, and Austin loves adopting pets. That’s why we get really, really excited any time we hear about Austinites helping to find new and interesting ways to help shelter animals find their forever homes. We’re even more excited when we see young people doing things to help their communities, which is why we we loved hearing about 13-year-old Aiden Horwitz’ new project that helps dogs find homes.

Her new site, DogDoOrDogDont.org channels her passion for helping rescue dogs into a way to connect dogs with potential homes. The site focuses on making sure that families find the right dog for them the first time around so that the dogs don’t end up back in the shelter when the family realizes they weren’t the right fit.
