5 FREE Things To Do in Mueller

The Mueller neighborhood just keeps growing! Located in East Austin, Mueller is a destination for young families and locals, and just a great place to explore in Austin. The eco-conscious area is a mix of restaurants and retailers, with local living just a quick walk away. Pack the car up for an eventful day or plan an overnight stay and enjoy all that the area has to offer, including some great FREE things you can do in Mueller.

1. Ride, walk, and explore one of Mueller’s gorgeous parks.

One of the best parts about Mueller is the amount of green space that is shared! Whether you are combining your shopping trip down Aldrich Street with a stroll around Lake Park, or you’re venturing out to other local parks like Branch Park, Ella Wooten Park, and Jessie Andrews Park to name drop a few, you can find plenty of greenery to enjoy.

Fun tip: If you’re a guest at Origin Hotel Austin, they have bikes you can borrow! Grab one right before sunset hits and take a ride around Lake Park for some stunning views.

2. Catch some air at Mueller’s newest Skate Park and Pump Track.

This past fall, a 28.5-acre skate park and cycle track opened right off of the hike and bike trail. It’s a great spot for any outdoor enthusiast. 3. Spend Your Sundays at the Texas Farmers Market.

Every Sunday, rain or shine, you can find the Texas Farmers Market at 2006 Philomena Street right in Mueller. On average you will find over 120 local vendors indoors and outdoors in the Branch Park Pavilion area. Summertime in Austin? Bring the little ones’ bathing suits and enjoy the splash pad located in the same area, for FREE!

4. Stick around for the Thinkery’s Community Night!

After you’ve ventured out to the Texas Farmers Market, stick around for more Sunday fun at Community Night at The Thinkery! From 3 to 5 p.m. on Sundays, and NEW DAY OF THE WEEK Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m., your little one can broaden their horizons and discover the world of STEAM for FREE. Walk-up admission is on a first-come, first-served basis, but you can check HERE for pre-registration tickets.
