Look, we love a solid pour-over coffee as much as the next guy or gal, but this post is all about the ice ice baby of caffeine—iced coffee. Whether you love iced coffee year-round or you just can’t take drinking hot coffee on a hot day (we hear ya), read on for our favorite places in Austin to get a cup of iced joe.
Here’s where to find the best iced coffee in Austin!
Head over to the east side to order a delicious, creamy, and textured cold brew infused with nitrogen on tap from Cuvée. Yes, nitrogen and yes, on tap! Make sure you get there early enough to snag a taco (or two) from Taco Deli delivered fresh every morning and kept warm until they run out. Need a downer after all that upper? Stop by on afternoons and evenings to enjoy a beer on tap.
Austin.com is and always has been a site that celebrates and promotes the unique people and places of Austin, TX and surrounding cities. Though many businesses, locations, and events are closed at this time, we continue to highlight those things so that you can plan to experience them in the future.
The best people (and dog) watching can be done while enjoying a delicious iced coffee at Jo’s on South Congress. Want to really kick your day up a notch? Order their Iced Turbo—a deliciously sweet caffeinated combo of chocolate, hazelnut, coffee, and cream. Yowza (Psst… you can find Jo’s coffee on the St. Edwards campus and visit their spot downtown)!
Work downtown and need a jolt of caffeine to get through the day? Stop into Houndstooth inside the Frost building for an iced coffee. On the east side or a bit further up north? The MLK location is solid and the North Lamar location is our go-to, as it is neighbors with one of our favorite taco joints —Taco Deli. Up a little more north? Stop into their Rock Rose location.
From the moment you walk, drive, scooter, or skip up to Tom’s you’ll notice it is so much more than a shoe store. Order a cold brew (or almond honey or horchata cold brew) and sit down and visit with friendly folks on the front porch or in a hammock. And yes, you can of course pick up a cute pair of kicks or sunglasses while you’re there. Follow them on Instagram to get updates about community events and yoga and barre classes!
Step off the SoCo strip to get yourself a nitro cold brew at Mañana to enjoy in their intimate interior space, take back to your room at the South Congress Hotel, or sip on while you shop and walk up and down South Congress.
When you want a lake view to go with your BOTTOMLESS iced coffee, look no further than Mozart’s located right on Lake Travis. Who knows, it might even give you enough of a jolt to climb neighboring Mount Bonnell for a great view of Austin.
