Plan The Best Glamorous Getaway to The Venetian Las Vegas
Looking for an escape from the Austin heat? We feel you! While Las Vegas is no stranger to scorching temps either, a trip here comes with luxury restaurants, pools and suites, plus world-class shows and air-conditioned casinos at every turn. A Vegas getaway offers Austinites the perfect excuse to escape the familiar Texas swelter and dive into a different kind of heat – one where there’s glamor galore. We recently traveled to Sin City to stay at The Venetian and we’re here to tell you, this resort is red hot, in all the best ways possible.
Here’s why you should plan the best most glamorous getaway to The Venetian Las Vegas!
What To Expect
Every room is a suite! Nearly double the size of your average Las Vegas hotel room, all of the rooms at The Venetian are huge – and stylish too! With spacious living areas and updated decor, you’ll experience the perfect blend of comfort and style that comes with staying in one of the most luxurious hotels in Vegas.

Can we talk about the architecture for a moment? Staying at The Venetian is like staying in a museum. It is absolutely gorgeous, which only adds to the glamor of the experience.
Here are a couple things of note. There are not a lot of plugs or charging stations in the room so be prepared. Also, be sure to grab complimentary bottles of water at check-in as the only water available in the room is the expensive bottled kind. Also, the resort is massive, and it often takes 10 to 20 minutes to walk to get where you’re going so be sure to leave ample time to get to reservations or meet up with pals.
Where to Eat & Drink
With over 40 dining venues, some of which feature celebrity-chefs, the resort offers everything you could ask for, all on property. We tried a variety of their offerings and found favorites at each and every one of them.
First up there’s Gjelina. The SoCal staple is renowned nationally for its locally sourced dishes. Favorites include the beets and burrata, Tomahawk and pizzas.
Nomikai is another great dining spot but also perfect for drinks. Their handcrafted cocktails and vibrant atmosphere will add elegance, whether your starting or ending your evening. Be sure to grab their Ube Espresso Martini.
For brunch, we recommend Bouchon. Renowned for its modern take on French cuisine, they serve bistro classics like avocado toast, crab benedict, smoked salmon, quiche and more – all with an elevated twist. Be sure to ask about the specials. On our visit, they were offering lobster rolls and they were delish!

Hit The Food Hall
If you’re looking for a little bit of everything, try the all new food court, Via Via. The space brings East and West Coast foodie hotspots direct to Las Vegas.
No matter how hot, Howlin’ Ray’s aspires to bring families, friends and newcomers together to share a meal and feel the heat. I’m here to tell you, this chicken is hot, hot, hot. I couldn’t even handle the mild. Though I did love the plain!
However, if you’re looking for something with a kick that’s balanced with a little sweetness, I absolutely love the HOTBOI pizza at Scarr Pimentel. It’s topped with beef pepperoni, jalapeños and Mike’s Hot Honey.
All’Antico Vinaio is a legendary Florentine sandwich shop known for its delicious and authentic Tuscan schiacciata sandwiches. The favorite here is the La Broadway which includes pistachio cream, Stracciatella, sun dried tomato and arugala.

Los Angeles-based B.S. Taqueria offers creative twists on classic tacos while Ivan Ramen’s menu is packed with inventive, playful izakaya-style plates that reflect the fun and adventurous spirit of Japanese dining.
And finally, our favorite is by far New Orleans’ own Turkey and the Wolf. I stopped by four times during my trip. I even ordered food to stash in my carry-on and eat when I returned home to Austin. The frozen espresso martini is a no-brainer. You MUST try it. In terms of food, though, I was blown away by the chicken pot pie. It’s a hand‑held, half‑moon shaped crunchy pastry with a soft interior stuffed with slow‑cooked chicken and served with a creamy buttermilk–tarragon dipping sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

If you’re simply looking for a drink, try the speakeasy Close Company, located within Via Via food hall. From the creators of Death & Co, one of the most influential bars of the modern craft cocktail movement, Close Company offers approachable, yet creatively unique cocktails. This is the first location for this new concept, with additional launches planned in Nashville and Atlanta, making it a must-visit destination for both travelers and locals.
Other Things To Do
The casino goes without saying. However, if you’re not a gambler, there are plenty of other things to do. The resort is home to 10 pools, including the adults-only TAO Beach club. If you’re more of a spa person, you can book some time at Canyon Ranch Spa & Fitness. There are specialized saunas, experiential showers and world-class treatments. Plus, hotel guests have access to the gym which features a huge climbing wall. Individual fitness classes are available for a fee as is a combined fitness + spa access pass (~$50) which grants broader facility use, such as saunas and relaxation lounges

Palazzo Theatre is home to close-up card magic performer and America’s Got Talent winner Shin Lim. Voltaire presents the Queen of Burlesque, Dita Von Teese. Ashlee Simpson will perform her comeback concert here in August and September, 2025.
The Venetian is also the hotel partner for The Sphere, hosting after parties for acts like Backstreet Boys. Coming to The Sphere later in 2025 are The Eagles and Zac Brown Band. You can check the full schedule for The Sphere here.

Other entertainment options include taking one of the famous gondola rides, visiting Madam Tussauds, having a drink at the Minus5 Ice Experience or simply stepping out onto the strip and seeing where the day or night takes you.
Pro tip: wear your walking shoes! When you head out to explore, please note that while centrally located, it can be a bit of a walk to get to other popular hotels and venues on the strip.
