Hours: Open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Trails: The park boasts an impressive 15 miles of wandering trails. Visitors will find that there are more than enough trails and paths tucked into the park to explore a different area on every visit. The trails are not paved, so they are not stroller friendly. However, despite a few roots and loose rocks the main trails should be an easy enough hike for the whole family.
Recreation: The park features entertainment for the whole family including a playground with areas for both big and little kids and a swimming pool (currently closed). There are also five softball fields, two basketball courts, and a volleyball court available.
Picnic Areas: There is one sheltered picnic area which can be reserved, 26 picnic tables, and six barbecue pits available. More information about reserving the picnic area can be found here.
Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park offers families in Austin a chance to get into nature, go swimming, or enjoy a number of recreational activities all within a few miles of downtown Austin.
