Hunter Jones, an indie-pop trio from Austin has released its seven-song record on Bandcamp titled Jordan Year. With cover art that includes an illustration of the band member’s cats playing basketball, we know that we are in for something a bit out of the ordinary when listening. The opening song, “Definitely,” is a track that does not veer far from the typical indie-pop songs that are out right now, but its beauty is something new. Clocking in at almost three minutes, the band manages to write a gorgeous track that includes golden guitar riffs and vocals from front man Daniel Sanchez sounding like Robert Smith from The Cure, making the song have a memorable vibe.
