From Basketball to Meatballs Former NBA Player Joins Board of Austin’s Snap Kitchen

Bill Bradley has a resume a mile long, and now former U.S. senator (Dem-NJ), NBA player (New York Knicks), Olympic Gold Medalist, Rhodes Scholar, board member of Starbucks Corp, and one-time candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination can add board member of Austin’s Snap Kitchen to that distinguished list, reports Austin Business Journal. Snap Kitchen provides prepackaged meals to health-conscious consumers on the go, and employs more than 160 people in Austin.

Bradley said in a statement: “Snap Kitchen is a unique concept at the cross-section of multiple trends — convenience, healthy living and sustainability. I’m a strong believer in the company’s mission to provide nutritious, high-quality meals to health-conscious consumers,” reports Nation’s Restaurant News.

In addition to adding Bradley to the board, Snap Kitchen recently announced a round of funding from private equity firm Catterton that would help the chain’s continued growth. Snap Kitchen, founded in 2010, currently has more than 40 locations in five cities, including Austin, Houston, and Dallas.
