This past weekend saw the debut of the hotly anticipated Austin International Drag Festival. Hundreds of exquisitely painted ladies from all over the world descended upon our weird city, and for one weekend Austin was transformed into the most glamorous place on earth.
I was honored to participate in the festival, and blown away by the incredible creativity and talent on display. Drag queens work hard to look good, and the only thing they love more than a room full of folks waving dollar bills is a gal with a camera. Lookin’ flawless? Then strike a pose hunny, ’cause you might end up on Austin.com. YAAASSS!
Of course, with dozens of shows throughout the weekend, I was only able to capture a tiny fraction of the action. But here are ten gag-worthy looks (that’s a good thing, in drag lingo anyway) that caught my eye.
