Chalkboards Say Goodbye To Summer With New Song ‘Sweet Tea Lemonade’

Austin band Chalkboards has released an end-of-summer anthem that welcomes the change in season while still reminiscing about the boiling heat. The single is called “Sweet Tea Lemonade,” and like the drink, it’s exactly the refresher we were needing.

Sounding at times like a Nintendo game, the group displays their chiptune prowess with the help of keyboardist and guitarist Jacob Weiss and singer Anna Crain. Their new EP, titled Have A Kick Ass Summer, is packed with simple and cute tracks like this one, which means it’s a guaranteed hit with fans of Kimya Dawson and The Moldy Peaches. Listening to Chalkboards, you’ll feel like everything is right with the world.

As far as local acts are concerned, you can’t get much better than these guys. Check out “Sweet Tea Lemonade” below.
