Matthew McConaughey vs. Will Ferrell at the USC/ Texas Game

On one side, we have Oscar winning actor Matthew McConaughey. On the other, it’s Emmy and Golden Globe nominated funnyman Will Ferrell.

When Texas took on USC at home in the ATX last weekend, McConaughey and Ferrell both graced the sidelines of their respective teams. The Longhorns came out on top in the end. In regards to who wins for best famous fan, well, that’s your call.

“Fear the Walking Dead” Goes Inside Brackenridge Hospital

On Sunday’s episode of “Fear the Walking Dead,” we got to go inside a zombie infested Brackenridge Hospital and it was pretty darn cool. Scenes shot on the roof also showcased the skyline, which included a crumbling Texas State Capitol.

This story arch continues on this week’s episode, airing on AMC on Sunday at 8 p.m.

For all you Fear The Walking Dead fans, and/or former patients or employees of Brackenridge Hospital, here’s the BTS piece that aired on The Talking Dead.

A Fantastic Opening Night

Fantastic Fest kicked off with a screening of Halloween! That’s right. Halloween is back, and this new incarnation is pretty thrilling. Jamie Lee Curtis walked the red carpet before the screening, as did costar Andi Matichak and writer Danny McBride.

Fantastic Fest kicked off in Austin tonight with a screening of Halloween! That’s right. Halloween is back, and I must say, this new incarnation is pretty thrilling. To be fair, I don’t really remember seeing the first one. I’m pretty sure I did but that was quite a long time ago. I do know who the killer was in that first flick but I think that may be because it’s a plot point in the Scream franchise. 😱 Jamie Lee Curtis walked the red carpet before the screening (as did costar Andi Matichak and Danny McBride, who happens to be one of the film’s writers – swipe for more pics of them). JLC is just as bad ass as you’d expect. She jokes, she swears, she gives the bird… and she oozes personality. Oh, how’d I’d love to spend an evening simply hanging out and chatting with her. Anyway, I could go on but this is probably enough for now. 🤪 Halloween opens nationwide on October 19. Fantastic Fest runs through September 27. Wizard World Austin is On

Wizard World Austin, known more casually as Austin Comic Con, brings a plethora of actors, artists, and cosplay loving fans to the ATX. This year’s lineup includes a few Dr. Who alums, some classic TV stars, a man you may know simply as Machete, and many more. The convention is happening today through Sunday at the Austin Convention Center.

A Celeb-tastic Week in Austin

Festivals and football aren’t the only things bringing celebs to the ATX. Ike Baronholtz brought his film The Oath to town, Roger Federer had a conversation with Andy Roddick (moderated by NBC Sports commentator and host Mary Carillo) at the Paramount, and Dierks Bentley performed at the 360 Ampitheater. And the week isn’t even over yet! Tim Allen appears at Bass Concert Hall tonight while the men of “Nashville” (the TV show) perform at ACL Live at the Moody Theater as part of the 4th and Goal Gala benefiting the Darrel K. Royal Research Fund.
