ABC Kite Fest

The ABC Kite Fest is an Austin classic featuring a kite showcase and kite contest, MossFest children’s concert, High Flyer VIP club and more. The largest and longest-running festival of its kind, ABC Kite Fest returns to Zilker Park for its 98th year on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fest is FREE to attend thanks to the generous support of community sponsors and the City of Austin.

About ABC Kite Fest

This one-of-a-kind festival is packed with activities for the whole family to enjoy like The Exchange Club Kite Showcase & Contest, of course. But that’s not all. There’s also the MossFest Children’s Concert, a Pet Zone and The Kids Club, which is bursting with activities for children of all ages, including FREE bounce houses, face painting and more. Austinites can also take advantage of the ABC Kite Fest’s VIP experience: the High Flyer Club presented by Texas Mutual. VIP passes include early entry into the festival, access to reserved, pre-paid parking, specialty food options and private air-conditioned restrooms. Passes for the High Flyer Club are on sale for $100. Pre-paid parking and shuttle passes are available, along with rideshare, biking and other bus options.

Founded in 1929 by The Exchange Club of Austin, the homegrown event one of the city’s longest-standing traditions. While it is produced by the nonprofit Friends of the ABC Kite Fest, ABC Home & Commercial Services has been the festival’s title sponsor since 2014. Other sponsors who help make the event FREE for you to enjoy include: H-E-B, PNC Bank, Texas Mutual, Austin Subaru, and Univision, with media support from KXAN and Austin PBS.
