About Waitress
Based on the movie of the same name, starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion, Waitress is a is heartfelt, humorous and empowering show, with a score by Sara Bareilles. The story follows Jenna Hunterson, a talented pie baker stuck in an unhappy marriage with her controlling husband, Earl. She works at Joe’s Pie Diner alongside her supportive coworkers and friends, Becky and Dawn.
Jenna discovers she’s pregnant and feels trapped, but a new connection with her quirky and kind OB-GYN, Dr. Pomatter, sparks hope and a secret romance. As the story unfolds, Jenna grapples with love, independence and self-worth. Through her pies and her friendships, she finds the courage to reclaim her voice and build a better future for herself and her child.
