Whether you’re visiting Austin or looking to travel beyond Texas, we recently discovered a unique hotel chain worth looking into. The CitizenM is designed for travelers who value luxury and location but are looking for a more affordable price.
Filled with funky art, ample work spaces and accessible dining, CitizenM hotels are inviting and comfortable. The bedrooms are simple yet satisfying. You always know exactly what you are going to get. And that is an enormous bed, huge windows (with automatic shades), and a customizable experience (all lights and electronics are controlled by an iPad). In regards to the art, you may find a few pieces a little weird, but here in Austin, that’s what we’re all about!
We stayed at one of their hotels during a trip to Copenhagen and the visit could not have been better. Besides the amazing location right in the middle of the city, the customer service at the hotel was top notch. It felt like the ambassadors were our friends, asking about our day and giving us feedback on the what we should do next.
Speaking of location, all CitizenM hotels are centrally located, giving guests access to the best of the city. You’ll find the Austin locale at 7th and Colorado. That means it’s an easy walk to everything and anything downtown. Looking to a do a capitol tour? Check! Catching a show at ACL Live? Easy peezy. Want to grab a bite at one of the city’s newest hotspots like Guest House, BOA Steakhouse, or Statesman? They’re all just a short walk away. And while not all CitizenMs can accommodate a pool, the ATX one can!
Now let’s talk price. While writing this article, I tried to book a room for a weekend in July – just one month away. The price, with taxes, came out to be $130/ night. Now that is what you call a deal.
With over 34 hotels worldwide in cities like Chicago, London, Paris, Rome, and more, this is one hotel you need to keep on your travel radar. Or, perhaps you should book a staycation at the Downtown Austin location. Either way, we’re pretty sure you will get more than your money’s worth with CitizenM.
Keep it weird, my friends.
