It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Meaning it’s time for all of the Austin Christmas traditions to return and we’re starting with Mozart’s Coffee with their annual Christmas Light Show.
This year, the Austin institution is doing things a little bit different. The biggest change you’ll notice is they don’t have their rooftop light display that is synced to Christmas music. However, they still have piano music, live bands, and a few new offerings. This includes additions like a charming market featuring wooden chalets, spiked drinks, immersive igloos, and a variety of boat rides.
Here’s what you can expect at the 2024 Mozart’s Festival of Lights Christmas event!
This year, an expanded time block format replaces the previous reserved table seating arrangements. General admission tickets are just $5 in advance (with all kids under 11 free to attend). Tickets grant access to the light displays and captivating entertainment with 2.5-hour time options: either 5 to 7:30 p.m. or 7:30 to 10 p.m. The early evening sessions will feature loads of family-friendly fun, including special appearances by Santa Claus on select dates.
They are also offering pre-ordered food packages, boat cruises, and Euro Igloo reservations. Here’s are details and pricing for those experiences:
- Immersive Lights Igloos have a capacity of 10 and include hot chocolate. The price is $300 plus fees with food add ons available.
- Donut Boat Cruises have a capacity of 10 people and are 45 minutes long. The $150 price includes unlimited hot chocolate while add ons are offered.
- Lake Austin Lights – Boat Cruises are $30 to $45, depending on the time, and last 45 minutes. You have the option to rent out an entire boat as well for 15, 22, or 44 people (prices vary). Enjoy complimentary hot cocoa and cozy blankets.
All admission options include access to the ski chalet village with food and drink options from Salt Lick BBQ, Quince Lakehouse, and more. There will be live entertainment every night throughout the 5 ½ week festival, showcasing classical favorites including Texas and Celtic Christmas music, performances on their one-of-a-kind, light-up Steinway piano and some special surprise acts!
