Firehouse Lounge
The Firehouse Lounge, a speakeasy-style bar located behind a hidden bookshelf, is an Austin original that first opened in September 2012. It shares its space with the Firehouse Hostel, both situated in the city’s oldest standing fire station which was built in 1885.
Since its opening, the Firehouse Lounge has become a local favorite, known for its prohibition-era ambiance and superb craft cocktails. The bartenders know their stuff! Whether you’re into a classic Old Fashioned or something more experimental, the drinks are crafted with serious care. There’s something extra fun about it being inside a hostel. It feels international, quirky and welcoming. The unique setting and hidden entrance contribute to its charm, making it a notable spot for travelers and locals alike.
