Located in East Austin, Canje is a vibrant Caribbean restaurant that opened its doors in 2021. The establishment is the passion project of Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph, a native of Guyana and co-owner/executive pastry chef of Emmer & Rye. Named after the Canje pheasant, Guyana’s national bird, the restaurant draws inspiration from Chef Bristol-Joseph’s homeland, offering a menu that spans flavors and traditions from Puerto Rico to Jamaica.
