Austin has a wide variety of delicious culinary options. Honesty, it almost makes your head spin just thinking about it. But sometimes all you really want is a classic hamburger with a side of fries. A hamburger is; a comfort food, an American pastime, and just plain delicious. Whether you want an old fashioned burger or modern culinary masterpiece, Austin has it all. So, we asked Austin.com readers to share the best places to get burgers in the ATX and this what they had to say. Be warned, you will crave a burger by the time you’re done reading this.

JewBoy Burgers | 5111 Airport Boulevard

Menu | We recommend the Goyim. A patty with grilled pastrami, bacon and melted swiss, pickles and mustard with a side of fries or tots!

Moonies Burger House | 200 S. Bell Boulevard (Cedar Park)

Menu | We recommend the Farmer Val. It’s melted goat cheese, bacon, grilled onions, spring salad mix toped with a garlic, lemon, and rosemary aioli.

Phil’s Ice House | 5620 Burnet Road | 2901 S. Lamar Avenue | 13265 US Hwy 183 N

Menu | We recommend the “78704” Burger. The south of the river burger is topped with Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeños, grilled onions, sliced avocado, and chipotle mayo on a toasted jalapeño cheese bun.

Buddy’s Burgers | 9001 Cameron Road

Menu | We recommend Buddy’s Spicy with Cheese! A Angus beef patty with Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, jalapeños, and Buddy’s spicy smack sauce! Don’t forget the fries.

Paul Martin’s | 3120 Palm Way

Menu | We recommend ordering the Classic Burger. It’s certified Angus beef, Tillamook cheddar or danish blue cheese, black pepper aioli and fries!

The Tavern | 922 West 12th Street

Menu | We recommend you try the Cadillac Burger. It’s a all beef patty with onion rings, mushrooms, A1 mayo, and cheddar cheese.

Menu | We recommend the Magic Shroom. It’s a creamy goat cheese, field mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and basil pesto sauce!

Menu | We recommend trying the Country Fried Burger. It’s served with the classic lettuce, pickles and jalapeño mayo! Don’t forget the crinkle fries.

Dan’s Hamburgers |  5602 N Lamar Boulevard | 844 Airport Boulevard | 4308 Manchaca Road | 610 Old San Antonio Road (Buda)

Menu | Dan’s keeps it pretty simple with a a plain hamburger, cheeseburger, or a double. They’re all good. You have the choice to add cheese, jalapeños, or bacon to any of the burgers. Sometimes less is more!

Sandy’s Hamburgers | 603 Barton Springs Road

Menu | We recommend the Chili Cheese & Onion Hamburger but you can’t go wrong with this Austin staple. Don’t forget to order ice cream too!

Short Stop | 6920 Manchaca Road | 2217 E 7th Street | 11693 Research Boulevard | 3001 W Anderson Lane | 12784 Research Boulevard | 6603 Berkman Drive | 1144 Airport Boulevard | 3811 N Interstate 35 Frontage Road

Menu | This is another classic burger joint. They serve up 1/4 lb burgers or double meat double cheese that you can’t go wrong with.

Loro | 2115 S Lamar Boulevard

Menu | We recommend the only burger on the menu but it’s just that good. The Lore Cheeseburger is red onion-brisket jam, muenster cheese, and lettuce. It’s delicious.

Top Notch | 7525 Burnet Road

Menu | We recommend one of everything off the menu! But if we had to pick we’d say the Top Pick, a burger with special sauce, hickory sauce, grated cheese, and onions. Don’t forget a vanilla or chocolate shake! It’s a must.

Menu | We love P. Terry’s is the best “fast food” burger ever! We love it all but we recommend the crispy chicken burger with a order of fries and a drink. Save room for their giant chocolate chip oatmeal cookies!
