Solar Saturday: Black History Month Kick-Off Block Party
Carver Museum ATX honors Black History Month 2026: “A Century of Black History Commemorations.” Join on Saturday, February 7 from 12 to 6 p.m. for the Solar Saturday: Black History Month Kick-Off Block Party! In partnership with PNC, the Carver is celebrating the Black History Month Centennial with an action-packed kick off.
TPA Trivia Night – Live at the Drafthouse
Put your arts and entertainment knowledge to the test on Monday, February 9, starting at 7 p.m.! Teams of up to six can compete in a multi-round Pub Quiz style trivia night. The top three teams will get prizes, including tickets to upcoming TPA performances, along with great prizes from the Alamo Drafthouse. Trivia will take place in Barrel O’Fun at the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller. It’s totally free to enter!
Women Who Wander Opening Reception
This Exhibition Opening + Reception will feature an exclusive first look into this exhibition, specialty cocktails and an enjoyable evening. Head to the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden & Museum on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the opening of the exhibition: Women Who Wander. Free and open to the public, walk ins are welcome.
Thursday Film Series: Wayne’s World (1992)
Join for a screening of Wayne’s World (1992) at the Harry Ransom Center on Thursday, February 12 at 6 p.m. A reception will follow the screening. A reservation does not guarantee a seat. Line forms upon arrival of the first patron, and doors open 30 minutes in advance.
Birding at Pease Park
Travis Audubon and Pease Park Conservancy are teaming up to bring birding to Pease Park! Join Chris Gunter and Nicole Netherton on Friday, February 13 at 7:30 a.m. for a morning of birding at Pease Park! We will have binoculars for anyone who needs to borrow a pair. Register here.
Country Waltz Lesson & Dance Party with J Wagner
Pease Park Conservancy is excited to partner with J Wagner for a country waltz class and dance party on Valentine’s Day! This event will take place on Saturday, February 14 at the Tudor Cottage and Terrace at Pease Park. Festivities kick off at 6:30 p.m. and the event is free and open to the public. Register here.
BookPeople Presents: Meet Cute at the Bookshop
BookPeople welcomes you to Meet Cute at the Bookshop, a romantic (or anti-romantic if that’s your vibe) way to spend your Valentine’s Day. The event will feature a flash tattoo pop-up from Cherry Pop Ink, special cafe drinks, an author event with Lynn Painter, and a romance book giveaway! Swing by at any time on Saturday, February 14.
Austin Lunar New Year Festival
Celebrate Lunar New Year on Sunday, February 15 from 2 to 5 p.m. with performances, lion dance, carnival games, cultural activities, red envelopes and fun for the whole family. Hosted by Austin Great Wall Chinese School (AGWCS), a non-profit organization serving the Austin area since 1994, this free and family-friendly Lunar New Year Festival is open to everyone.
DAC Nights: K-Pop Pop-Up
Come to DAC Nights: K-Pop Pop-Up on Wednesday, February 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. Learn some of your favorite K-Pop dances, then make your own K-Pop themed photocards! DAC Nights staff will be collaborating with a dance instructor to teach the moves to a variety of popular K-Pop songs. There will also be plenty of materials available to create a K-Pop Pop-up card for friends or home decoration.
Office Space Movie Party
Get ready to smash the printer (emotionally) with an Office Space movie party at Blue Owl Brewing on Thursday, February 19 at 6 p.m. Drink beers, quote your favorite lines and pretend you’re not thinking about work!
Lives Remembered: Black History in Pease Park
The site of today’s Pease District Park was part of the 365-acre Woodlawn homestead owned by former Texas Governor E. M. Pease and his wife, Lucadia. Although Governor Pease supported the Union during the Civil War, research has found that at least 37 individuals were directly enslaved or leased as enslaved labor by the Pease family. This tour, happening on February 21 and 28, recognizes and shares some of the stories of a few of these people. Please register to attend using this form and indicate which date you will attend.
Being and Belonging: An Asian American History Series – February Pop Up
Learn about Asian American history through facilitated activities, guest speakers and/or Asian American media. Being and Belonging is happening at the Asian American Resource Center and is open to anyone (ages 18+) who wants to learn in an interactive, hands-on, collaborative setting alongside fellow community members. During each session, we will explore a different topic related to Asian American history through facilitated activities, guest speakers, and/or Asian American media. February’s pop up is happening on Tuesday, February 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the theme will be Belonging & Citizenship.
Toddler Yoga with ATX Yoga Girl
Stretch, breathe, move, dance, relax, create and have FUN with ATX Yoga Girl on Wednesday, February 25 at 10 a.m.! These classes feature age-appropriate yoga and movement, including breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation, meditation and more. Your family will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. Free and open to the public! All ages are welcome but these classes are geared toward toddlers and their grown ups. Register here.
Healthy Living for Your Brain & Body
Learn what you can do to improve cognition in older adults at Twin Oaks Branch, Austin Public Library on Wednesday, February 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Results from the Association’s recent U.S. POINTER clinical trial found that certain lifestyle interventions targeting a combination of physical activity, improving nutrition, cognitive and social challenge, and health monitoring improved cognition in older adults at risk of cognitive decline. Learn about this new research and how you can incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging. This education series is generously offered by Alzheimer’s Association. Reserve a spot.
Black History Month Kid’s Day at the Carver!
Calling all kids! Join for a fun-filled family day of celebration and learning at the George Washington Carver Museum, Cultural and Genealogy Center! On Saturday, February 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take the kiddos to the Carver for an exciting event dedicated to honoring and educating young minds on the rich history of Black culture. BookPeople Presents: Cat in the Hat Costume Storytime
BookPeople invites you for a special storytime, photo-op and book “signing” with The Cat in the Hat. This event is free and happening on Saturday, February 28. Festivities start at 10:30 a.m. and will last 20 to 30 minutes, followed by a meet & greet with The Cat in the Hat
