Gather your friends and family get ready to scramble around Austin because our pals over at Roamli are hosting the Great Austin Scavenger Hunt! Dozens of challenges will be scattered around town and you need to find them!
Roamli is an outdoor exploration company that highlights thousands of hidden gems all around the world. Through their app, Roamli has curated tracks and tours along with themed scavenger hunts allowing users to create their own events to share with friends for free.
On Saturday, March 27, they’ll be hosting the inaugural “Great Austin Scavenger Hunt.” Participants will be tasked with hunting down amazing murals, statues, monuments, and other hidden gems throughout the city. The grand prize winner could win up to $4,000!

The creators of Roamli are originally from Chicago where they work with CASA of Illinois and understand the importance of each Advocate’s role regarding impacted children. No child should be neglected or abused and the volunteers at CASA are so dedicated to the cause that the Roamli gang wanted to find a way to contribute. That’s why they chose to support CASA of Travis County with this event.
Additionally, they chose to host the Great Austin Scavenger Hunt because they know how difficult the past year has been for everyone and the mental toll the pandemic has taken on everyone, especially children. By creating a safe, exciting, and socially distanced experience for families to participate in, they hope to bring a small sense of normalcy back to the community while highlighting the beautiful gems throughout our city.
Here’s how The Great Austin Scavenger Hunt will work:
Teams will have three hours to find and photograph as many of the highlighted “most Instagrammable” sights with the Roamli app. Teams only need to buy one ticket as you will use just one Roamli account and device to complete the challenges.

The Scavenger Hunt takes place on March 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $29.95 per entry and available for purchase here. The site also contains details on how to register for the event and official rules.
The person who accurately photographs the most challenges during the Scavenger Hunt timeframe will be declared the winner and will win up to $4000! Details on the potential prize amounts can be found here.
