In the biggest SXSW news since pretty much ever, President Barack Obama will be part of a keynote conversation on Friday at SXSW Interactive, and SXSW badgeholders can now enter to win tickets to the event. Hopefully having delivered State of the Union addresses and other various and sundry speeches throughout his tenure as POTUS will have him really prepped for the big day. According to The Austin Business Journal the event takes place at 2:30pm on March 11 at The Long Center for the Performing Arts. Obama will be interviewed by Texas Tribune’s Evan Smith.
The ticket lottery is strictly for badgeholders (Interactive, Platinum, and Gold) and began this morning at 10am. The deadline to enter is 8pm CST on Thursday, March 10-the randomly drawn winners will be announced later that night. The entry page and FAQs can be found on the SXSW site. Those who do not win tickets or just plain don’t have a SXSW badge can watch online or on the conference simulcast throughout the conference venues.
No word yet on whether or not Franklin Barbecue will be holding a place at the front of the line for him in case he decides to stop by, again.
