About Tony Foundation

Tony Laudadio came to Austin to attend Saint Edwards University as a freshman in 2002 and quickly realized this would be his home forever. After graduating from Saint Edwards, he had immediate success in a sales career, bought a home at 24, was a staple at some of the local city of Austin golf courses, and began raising a family. At age 29, he was diagnosed with kidney cancer. After six months of surgeries and a tough recovery, he went back to work and was finding success again in his sales career.

Just a couple of years later, he was diagnosed with brain cancer (completely unrelated to his first cancer diagnosis). This time the recovery included surgery, 18 months of treatment, the loss of his career, and a discovery bigger than he could ever imagine. He realized that his cancer journey had brought him to a new place where he wanted to help other cancer fighters. He saw so many nonprofits doing research for cancer, but he also saw so many people struggling just to get through the cancer journey. So, he realized that giving financial assistance to families was the most pressing need for the majority of cancer fighters.

Helping those that are fighting the cancer journey became his passion. He started the Tony Foundation in early 2018. With the help of the Austin community and so many of his friends, former co-workers, and family, Tony has been able to make this his full-time job and has been able to help over 130 cancer fighters and their families. The $5000 grants the organization gives to families comes with no strings attached because Tony knows how many demands there are on cancer fighters.
