Whether you celebrate or not, May the 4th is coming! Or perhaps you prefer the lesser celebrated day, Revenge of the 5th. Either way, you’re not a real Star Wars fan unless you honor the day in someway or another. Every year, events happen all over the ATX. Read on for some of the best going on in 2024.
Our Favorite Star Wars Day Events Happening in Austin
In The Lone Star Wars State Screening and Celebration

This special program celebrates all things Star Wars. Enjoy special demonstrations and hands-on activities including intergalactic-themed craft stations for adults and kids of all ages. There will be an exclusive screening of the documentary, In the Lone Star Wars State. Plus, snap a photo with a member of the Kar’ta Beskar Mando Mercs or Saber Guild — Jakku Temple. Join Girlstart for an interactive Star Wars STEM demo and hands-on activities for kids of all ages. Create your own Lightsaber and Yoda ears at the family craft station. Central Machine Works Celebration
3 to 11 p.m. | Central Machine Works, 4824 East Cesar Chavez Street | $10 Suggested Donation
CMW is back from a galaxy far, far away! Be there on May 4th live and in person at Central Machine Works. Event is kid-friendly from 3 to 7 p.m. with a kids costume contest, activities, vendors, and a parade! From 8 to 11 p.m. you can expect performers, adult costume contests, lightsaber battles, vendors, themed drinks, a raffle, merch, and more. And, of course, photo ops with some of your favorite characters. Event is hosted by Silver Leg Creative, a 501c3 nonprofit that organizes events for charity. This year they will once again be benefiting SAFE Alliance, a respected human service agency in Austin.
May the Fourth Be With You Park Pop Up Event
2 to 4 p.m. | San Gabriel Park, Legacy Pavilion, 521 E. Morrow Street, Georgetown | FREE
Join other fans in San Gabriel Park for a park pop up event. Test your abilities on a Jedi training course, battle with light sabers and destroy the Death Star. They’ll have a special guest so come in costume and get some memorable photos! The Georgetown Public Library will be on site providing crafts and additional activities.
Star Wars Skate
2 to 4 p.m. | Ice & Field At The Crossover, 1717 Scottsdale Drive, Leander | Skating Prices Here
A short time from now, at Ice & Field which is not very far, far away… you can celebrate the day with a Star Wars-themed public ice skating event! Music provided by DJ Paul Secrest. Wear a costume to receive $2 off general admission.
May the 4th Be With You at Ego’s
7 p.m. to 2 a.m. | Ego’s, 510 South Congress Avenue | FREE
Dress up as your favorite Star Wars character for a night of awesome decorations, themed drinks, karaoke, giveaways and good times with great people.
