  1. Movies Under the Stars – Friday, April 11. You have four FREE movies to choose from: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at 8 p.m. on the Whole Foods Rooftop Plaza (525 N Lamar Blvd, Austin), E.T. starting at dusk at Ski Shores Cafe (2905 Pearce Road, Austin), Planes at 7:30 p.m. in Robin Bledsoe Park (601 S.   2. The Que Pastas at Strange Brew – Saturday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Enjoy a FREE kids’ show with kindie music masters, The Que Pastas! Strange Brew Lounge Side, 5326 Manchaca Rd, Austin.
  3. Texas Community Music Festival – Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13, from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Enjoy FREE family-friendly musical performances all weekend long!  There will be jazz, wind, brass, opera, and more! Central Market North, 4001 North Lamar Blvd., Austin.
  4. Egg Hunt at the Capitol – Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m. Join First United Methodist Church and the Easter Bunny for an early Egg Hunt and Roll and Family Picnic on the Capitol Grounds. Bring your cameras, blankets, Easter baskets, and a picnic lunch for your family! BBQ and hot dogs will be available for donations for church ministries. This event is FREE and open to the public.   5. Texas Cave Conservancy Cave Day (Round Rock) – Saturday, April 12, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.  The Texas Cave Conservancy will host the 20th Cave Day at the Avery Ranch Cave. This FREE event offers the opportunity to visit cave preserves and learn about the history of the area. Cavers will assist visitors while in the cave. This educational show cave has lights and a deck. Flashlights or headlamps are not necessary, but they may be fun to have along. The Avery Ranch Cave is located at 9420 Morgan Creek Dr, and parking is available at the Avery Ranch tennis court at 9400 Morgan Creek Dr, Round Rock.
  6. Celebrate Me! Argentina – Saturday, April 12, from 12 – 4 p.m. Celebrate Me! is a FREE travel event series which explores different cultures, celebrating their similarities and their diversity. Visit new corners of the globe to learn about each country’s language, food, geography, and history. Carver Museum and Cultural Center, 1165 Angelina St., Austin.
  7. South Asian New Year Festival – Saturday, April 12, from 12 – 8 p.m. Celebrate the South Asian New Year at the Zilker Hillside Theater. The South Asian New Year Festival, or “Pohela Boishakh,” is a FREE annual outdoor celebration showcasing the culture and diversity of South Asia. The Hillside Theater Stage will feature live dance and music performances along with authentic programs highlighting the colorful diversity of South Asian Culture. Offstage, visitors will be enticed to enjoy the wonderful foods and merchandise available in the Bazaar. With food, ethnic clothing, jewelry, crafts, henna and more, this festival has all the ingredients to represent the rich tapestry of South Asian Culture. Zilker Hillside Theater, 2201 Barton Springs Rd., Austin.
  8. Second Saturdays are for Families: Studio Sampler Featuring Ceramixer – Saturday, April 12, from 12-4 p.m. Fill up on art of all kinds at this Art School open house. Try demonstrations of everything from wheelthrowing to screen printing. Compete in clay contests, check out an artist’s sketchbook at the touring Sketchbook Project trailer, meet the fabulous Art School faculty, and design wearable art to take home.   9. Light Saber Summit –  Saturday, April 12 at 6 p.m. The Lone Star Saber Academy is hosting the ninth annual LightSaber Summit at Butler Park. This FREE event for both Jedi and Sith to discover and develop lightsaber techniques and skills! Come join Lone Star Saber Academy-Austin, the Chosen Ones (previously JTE, Austin), San Antonio’s Lightsaber Knights, Dallas’s North Texas Jedi, and Houston’s Space City Sabers at the “Jedi Labyrinth” (Butler Park) for an evening of dueling, games, and training. Family Water Festival – Sunday, April 13, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The Family Water Festival is FREE and will provide more than 30 games and interactive learning activities, four live bands, food trailers, green workshops and presentations, SUP, canoe and kayak demos, and prize giveaways.   • Easter Egg Hunt (Georgetown) – Saturday, April 12 at 9 a.m. Bring your basket for our Annual Easter Egg Hunt! There will be 25,000 candy eggs to gather and a grand prize egg for each age division. Grand prize baskets are donated by the Primrose School of Georgetown. Each age division will be assigned a specific softball field to carry out their hunt. FREE!   • Eggstravaganza! (Lakeway) – Saturday, April 12, from 2 – 4 p.m.  Rain or Shine! Celebrate the season with Eggstravaganza! at City Park. Bring your basket! The event will begin at 2:00 p.m. Age specific egg hunts will begin at 2:45 with the 7 – 8 year-olds going first, followed by the 5 – 6 year-old group. The hunt for the 3 – 4 year-olds will take place around 3:00, followed by the 1 – 2 year-olds. Children from the area are invited to participate in all the festivities which will include a petting zoo, a cookie decorating craft, mural coloring, spin art, a visit from the Easter Bunny, glitter tattoo artists and a special guest Darren Peterson with his trained animals. Take your photo with the bunny until 2:45 p.m. (bring your own camera). Enjoy jumping in the inflatable and train rides. There will also be face painting for a fee.
