Free Family Ways To Celebrate New Years Eve in Austin


Looking to celebrate the new year but hoping to find something the whole family can enjoy? You’ve come to the right place! And here’s a bonus: all these events are FREE!

Here are a few free ways the whole family can celebrate New Years Eve in Austin!

Noon Year’s Eve with Mr. Will @ Laura’s
Laura Bush Community Library | 9411 Bee Cave Road

Ring in the New Year with a concert by Mr. Will! Join us for Noon Year’s Eve at Laura’s Library. There will be music, dancing, and lots of fun – everything we need to lead in the New Year right with one of our favorite musicians. We’ll even do a countdown to 12 (noon)!  Recommended for ages 3 & up.

Austin’s New Year Celebration
Auditorium Shores | 800 W Riverside Drive

Austin’s annual free New Year celebration presented by Visit Austin and the City of Austin. You’re in for a show! Live music, festive foods & fireworks at the iconic Auditorium Shores. Events start at 7 p.m. and conclude with fireworks at midnight! Entertainment schedule and more details here.

New Years Eve Day Party
St. Elmo Brewing
| 440 E. St. Elmo Road

Celebrate the new year with a fun-filled and family-friendly day party at St. Elmo! Family-friendly and fun with free face painting and stuff for the kids! Live music from Zaat from 1 to 4 p.m. with countdown + champagne toast at 4 p.m. Drink specials for adults. Taproom open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Disco Into The New Year with The Phoenix
Kingsbury Commons at Pease Park|  1100 Kingsbury Street

The Phoenix and Pease Park come together again to bring you a sober NYE party with food, music, giveaways, selfie station, disco dancing, and more! Live music by local pop queen, Kady Rain! Join on the Terrace for New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2023, from 7 to 10 p.m.!

Noon Year’s Eve: New Year’s Eve Day Party
Beerburg Brewing | 13476 Fitzhugh Road

Join at Beerburg for a rockin’ New Year’s Eve celebration! Get ready to kick off the New Year in style. As the clock strikes noon, get ready to count down to the “Noon Year” and watch the confetti rain down. They’ll have complimentary bubbles and sparkling cider for your new year toast, as well as a photo backdrop and props to capture the moment. Happening from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Roughhouse Brewing | 680 Oakwood Loop, San Marcos

Join Roughhouse for their annual New Year’s Eve Fireworks Show! Free and open to the public. This year, since NYE falls on a weekend they will host the show on the actual date of Sunday 12/31! As always, they do their show just after sundown at 6 p.m. to serve as your pre-game or your end-game with kids in tow! Show usually lasts 10 to 15 minutes. Hot cocoa will be available as well as their full drink menu and a modified food menu. Please no outside food or drinks. Bring chairs and blankets to stay cozy and enjoy the show!

Events Happening on Saturday, December 30

New Year’s Party with Thinkery & Meanwhile Brewing
Meanwhile Brewing | 3901 Promontory Point

Thinkery is joining Meanwhile from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, 12.30 for kid’s activities! There will be a guided printmaking activity accessible for most kiddos and their parents, plus a free play area. This event is free and all ages but best suited for kids under 10 years old! They’ll have holiday drinks available in the taproom (non-alcoholic coffee options and cocktails) in addition to the usual menu, plus food trucks will be open.
