Texas First Lady, Cecilia Abbott is leading a weekly book reading program to spread joy during during the COVID-19 crisis. The virtual storytime takes place twice a week throughout the duration of the pandemic.
The Stars of Texas Storytime happens on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. on Facebook Live from Governor Greg Abbott’s Facebook page. Special guests and notable authors from across Texas will read children’s books on the livestream.
The First Lady was the first reader, accompanied by Pancake, one of the couple’s two golden retrievers.. The featured story was “Night-Night Texas” by Katherine Sully. You can re-watch the read-along here.
