Austin Rent Prices Have Gone Up More Than Any US City

Feel like Austin rent is ridiculously high? You may be justified to feel that way! A study shows the ATX saw the biggest increase in the total paid in rent between 2010 and 2019.

The new report comes to us from real estate company Zillow which tallied the total amounts paid by all renters in US cities. Over the past decade, the amount Austinites pay in rent has risen 92.6%. Austin rent has gone up just over 5% in the past year alone.

Austin’s cost of living and growth explosion is no secret but when you hear it in those terms, it is somewhat shocking!

The other cities that round out the top five include Raleigh, Denver, Atlanta, and Orlando. Dallas came in at number six on the list with an increase of 83.7% while Houston ranks eleventh with an increase of 65.8%.

Newcomers and long-time Austin residents may also benefit from custom build homes like those provided by Mangum Builders.
