Tales on the Trail
Happening All Week | from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. | Ringtail Ridge, 1818 Old Ranch Road 12, San Marcos
The City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department, San Marcos Public Library, and Community Action, Inc. are partnering to bring you Tales on the Trails. Each month will feature a different story that you can follow along with as you explore our beautiful parks and natural areas.The January 2021 Tales on the Trails will be set up at Ringtail Ridge and will feature “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. You and your family are invited to take a self-guided tour along the 1/2 mile Tex’s Trail at Ringtail Ridge, located at 1818 Ranch Road 12 (behind the Dakota Ranch Apartments).

Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night

FREE KinderDance Class @ Indigo Play

Enjoy this fun Class on Wednesdays in January FREE with Admission! For ages 2-5, girls and boys welcome! This high energy class starts with a blend of free-flow creative movement, and then dives into ballet and tap techniques in the second half. Make sure you have your cameras ready for the mini-show in the last session of each month!!No special shoes or clothing needed! No reservations needed! Amazing instructor Heather teaches KinderDance at local studios. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. Her choreography has won numerous awards over the years. Masks are required for adults, and encouraged for all. Class held in spacious, open area with plenty of room for social distancing.

The Contemporary Austin Laguna Gloria – FREE Thursdays

Explore Laguna Gloria’s 14 acre outdoor sculpture park. Admission is FREE every Thursday but is by reservation due to the pandemic. So reserve your time slot before it’s too late!

Blanton Museum of Art – FREE Thursdays
Thursday, January 28 | from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. | 200 East Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard
The Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas at Austin is one of the largest university art museums in the U.S. with 189,340 square feet. Lucky for us it’s FREE on Thursdays. Advance online timed tickets are still required. Free Thursday tickets are first come, first served, and are released with the week’s tickets on the Friday before the week begins.

Vista Brewing Presents: “Driftwood Nights”

Friday Night Songwriter Series at Vista Brewing in Driftwood. Voluntary $5 suggested donation supports local musicians and HAAM. Masks are required when not seated at your table or picnic area.
