Matthew McConaughey Cuts Breckyn Hager’s Hair

Texas Longhorns senior defensive end Breckyn Hager enlisted Matthew McConaughey to cut his lustrous locks this week. Let’s call it the Mcconaugh-cut, shall we?!

Hager vowed he’d cut his hair after the Longhorns won the Big 12 championship. Though that didn’t actually happen, the horns did win A championship, defeating the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl. So, the Westland grad stayed true to his word. The hair, which he’d been growing out for four years, was donated to locks of love.

Austin Amelio Joins “Fear the Walking Dead”

Austin native Austin Amelio, better known as Dwight on “The Walking Dead,” is now the second cast member to crossover from “TWD” to “Fear the Walking Dead.” No word on whether or not the actor is on location while the “FTWD” gang shoots at Southeast Metropolitan Park this week.

Westlake Grads Drew Brees and Nick Foles Go Head-to-Head

You can call it a high school reunion of sorts, though the two former Chaps are a decade apart. 1997 grad Drew Brees and 2007 grad Nick Foles will go head-to-head on Sunday when the New Orleans Saints take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the divisional playoffs.

It’s not the first time the Westlake grads square off in the postseason. Five years ago, Brees and the Saints beat Foles and the Eagles in the wild-card round. Both QBs have Super Bowl titles. Come Sunday evening, only one will have the chance to go for another.

Central Texas Pig Rescue Caring for Whitney Cummings’ Pig Joe

When Joe was abandoned during the California wildfires, actress Whitney Cummings stepped in to care for the pig. Due to his size, it was assumed he was an 8-week-old piglet, however, he’s actually a 7-9 month old pig who had been starved to remain small. Joe is currently being cared for at Central Texas Pig Rescue after Cummings drove 23 hours to bring him to the organization, where he will stay until the actress/comedian finishes up her stand-up tour and comedy special. You can keep up with Joe’s story by following Central Texas Pig Rescue on Instagram.
