Amazon.com is about to make life even more convenient for Austin as they announce the first Texas pickup location, Austin Business Journal reports. The University of Texas’ official motto “What starts here changes the world,” can now apply to your shopping experiences as well, because the new pickup location is on the UT campus at the Gregory Gymnasium near 22nd Street.
The Amazon@UT Austin pickup location will open in the summer of 2016 and provide free pickups and product returns for over two million items for Amazon Student and Amazon Prime members. According to the press release on Business Wire, those two million items are “including virtually everything one needs, from everyday essentials to technology.”
For many Austinites, life would be a bit tougher without Amazon Prime and Amazon Prime Now, and for those willing to actually get in their car to grab something, this new service helps to expand on those membership privileges. This makes life especially convenient for UT students who may not have easy access to transportation convenient for shopping. The UT location marks the third Amazon campus location (along with another three located in college communities), with two more planned in 2016.
