Biking the Brushy Creek Trail
1. Walk, Run, Or Bike The Brushy Creek Trail
The Brushy Creek Trail winds through both Round Rock and Cedar Park, but the majority of its 6.75 miles are in Cedar Park. Walkers, runners, and bikers flock here daily to do portions of the trail or the whole thing. You could spend an entire day exploring the trail and stopping by any of its 6 parks along the way. We’ve highlighted two of our favorite parks found along the trail below.
- Brushy Creek Lake Park (3300 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park) has a huge splash pad area, a shaded playground, pavilions with picnic tables, a sand volleyball court, and bathrooms, all with the hike and bike trail and Brushy Creek Lake as your view. It’s beautiful! Bring sand toys, bike or scooters, towels, snacks, and water. You can even rent canoes here and get out on the lake.
- Champion Park (3830 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park) is a great place to bring your dinosaur-loving kids. They can climb on top of dinosaur structures and dig for dino bones in a shaded sand pit (remember to bring your shovels and brushes). If you get too hot, there’s a small splash pad area that runs Friday-Sunday during the summer months.

2. Stroll Through The Cedar Park Sculpture Garden
The Cedar Park Sculpture Garden (1435 Main Street, Cedar Park) can be found by following the walking trail at the Cedar Park Recreation Center. This outdoor showcase of sculptures by local artists changes annually.

3. Shop Local At The Texas Farmers’ Market at Lakeline
The weekly Texas Farmers’ Market at Lakeline (11200 Lakeline Mall Drive, Cedar Park) operates every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. rain or shine all year long! You can find locally grown produce along with local honey, kombucha, freshly baked pita bread, and more. There’s almost always some sort of family entertainment happening like live music or a clown making balloon animals. The market is technically free, but you may have a really hard time not spending any money there.

4. Explore Elizabeth Milburn Park
Elizabeth Milburn Park (1901 Sun Chase Boulevard, Cedar Park) has something for everyone–several playgrounds, an updated BMX track, a hike and bike path, a public pool, playing fields, sand volleyball courts, a rock-climbing wall, and more. The park hosts free events year-round, such as movies in the park, concerts, 4th of July fireworks, a splash jam, a Veterans parade and ceremony, Christmas tree lighting and Santa’s workshop, Easter egg hunt, and more!

5. *Brand New* Lakeline Park
Lakeline Park (1510 Alexis Drive, Cedar Park) is the newest addition to Cedar Park with 3 miles of trails (including a loop around the lake), a performing arts pavilion, a zip line, a kayak launch, a fishing pier, and more! Phase 2 still to come, this will be the city’s largest park and you can expect many events to be held here in the future!

Bonus Fun That’s Not Free (but still cheap!)
Veterans Memorial Pool (2525 W New Hope Drive, Cedar Park) is so much fun (and so cheap!) that we had to include it in this post. Admission is only $2-5 and kids 3 and under are FREE. It has so much to offer! There’s a zero-depth entry point for the littlest ones, fountains, a giant dump bucket, a high-dive-like platform and drop slide, many shaded pavilions, lounge chairs, water basketball, and even a water rope course. We spent five hours there and my boys still didn’t want to leave–totally worth the low price of admission! If you’d like to explore more of Veterans Memorial Park, you can find a huge dog park, Memorial Hill, amphitheater, basketball and tennis courts.
