Some days, the best thing about work is going to one of the many Austin happy hours going on every day of the week. You leave your stress at the office and go to a restaurant or bar where you can get your favorite drink and maybe a bite to eat. A change of scenery is good after spending all day at work, but if all your favorite haunts are getting a little too familiar, use this list to find a new happy hour spot to try.

Editor’s note: This post has been updated as of September 2019 with current drink prices and hours.

These 10 North Austin happy hours are waiting for you!

10.) Kung Fu Saloon

Kung Fu Saloon describes its atmosphere as part vintage arcade, part sports bar and part late night dance party. Now that’s a combination you have to see to believe. They have games that will take you back to your childhood. Some of the games might even take your parents back to their childhood! Plus, their skeeball machines are always free!

Their weekday happy hour offers $1 off premiums and drafts, $3.50 domestics, $5.50 wells, and $7.50 calls. Perhaps you’ll try something off their sake bomb menu. And if you’re hungry, their kitchen serves up Asian inspired American food including cheeseburger egg rolls and sriracha buffalo wings.

If you can’t make it for happy hour, they have $4 mimosas and free game play on Sundays until 5 p.m.

Address: 11501 Rock Rose Avenue, Suite 501; Happy hour: Monday through Friday, from 4 to 7 p.m.

9.) Texas Bar & Grill

It doesn’t get much more Texan than when a bar has nightly Texas hold ‘em tournaments. Come to Texas Bar & Grill for their daily happy hour, and stay for the poker tournament. Grab your discounted drink right before happy hour ends, and belly up to the poker table. If you go all in and lose, just come back the next night to do it all over again! Not a poker player? Depending on the night you can also find karaoke, trivia, darts, live music, and more.

Address: 14611 Burnet Road; Happy hour: Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, noon to 2 a.m.

8.) Dogwood

In a town as gorgeous as Austin, it’s no wonder rooftop patios are a big hit for bars and restaurants. The rooftop patio at Dogwood is definitely one you need to enjoy with a drink and their $6 happy hour appetizers. Order cajun chicken fritters, barbecue bacon-wrapped shrimp, sweet potato tots, fried calamari, spinach and artichoke dip, or fried pickles, each for just $6.

7.) Homer’s Neighborhood Bar

Happy hour at Homer’s Neighborhood Bar is the perfect time to grab a drink and warm up your singing voice. Their nightly karaoke with over 40,000 songs to choose from will have you jumping up on stage and belting out your go-to karaoke number. As far as food goes, Homer’s only serves light snacks with their beverages, so you’re welcome to bring in outside food. In fact, they encourage you to patronize nearby restaurants.

6.) Urban: An American Grill
