In case you don’t already know, we have an incurable crush on Austin, Texas. We’re hopelessly, head over heels in love and we’re more than okay with that fact. We’re proud of it! Why?
Because Austin looks amazing from basically every angle and is perfectly suited to urban and outdoor adventuring and chronic nomming of really, really good food. Because, as a community, we’re fighting hard for equal pay for women and we’re committed to saving as many rescue animals as possible.
With all this in mind, what’s not to love about Austin, Texas?!

(3/3) “A couple of months ago, I quit my job & I just took a jump and I’m helping people now, mostly online because that’s the outlet that I started with and I’m comfortable with. But now I’m doing group work outs and getting together in the community and talking to people. This is our community so…I’m really passionate about getting as many people as healthy as possible… Of course I teach them about healthy foods and health products, but more importantly I teach them about changing their habits and balance. I haven’t had a drink in two years, for example, but I was binge drinking before I started. My stepdad was my 1st client and he is my most stubborn client. I can’t get him to do what I tell him to do. My mission is to help him lose a 100 lbs in 2018 and start with goals like to get him under 450 lbs. Yeah, it’s great to look good in a bathing suit, but saving someone’s life is my ultimate goal.”
Inspired by Brandon Stanton’s viral “Humans of New York” photography project, @humansofaustx publishes portraits of Austinites, captioned with interesting, funny, and often incredibly poignant quotes that provide insight into subjects’ lives. Matthew McConaughey attended a red carpet screening of his new film “White Boy Rick” in Austin. ••••• We asked the Oscar winning Austinite how it felt to share the project with a home town audience. ••••• “I love sharing my latest work with my town,” he said. He went on to explain that if he’s not working somewhere, he always tries to have a premiere in Austin. ••••• And this time, it was even more special because the studio partnered with Richard Linklater and Austin Film Society so the funds raised by the screening will support AFS. •••••• If there’s one thing we love more than a good ol’ Texas guy or gal, it’s a good ol’ Texas guy or gal giving back. 🎞🎥🎞 “White Boy Rick” is in theaters now.
