Visit The Johnson City Lights Spectacular This Holiday Season

Head west of Austin for a breathtaking holiday display you won’t soon forget, featuring more than 1.2 million LED lights! It’s so impressive that even NASA has reportedly seen the glow from space! The Johnson City Lights display is free to visit and fun for the whole family.

Here’s everything you need to know to visit the Johnson City Lights Spectacular this holiday season!

The festivities kick off on Friday, November 29, 2024, with an Official Lighting Ceremony and a  spectacular fireworks display to celebrate the start of the holiday season. The celebration  continues the next evening with the famous Lighted Hooves & Wheels Parade on Saturday,  November 30, 2024, where lighted vehicles and horses illuminate the streets of Johnson City’s historic downtown.

In honor of the 35th anniversary of Lights Spectacular, special events will be held each weekend throughout the season. Guests can enjoy magical activities like photos with Santa, carriage rides,  and hayrides through the glowing lights. These attractions create a perfect family-friendly  atmosphere that has made Lights Spectacular a holiday favorite for generations.

Arrive before sundown to explore the festive, walkable downtown, where the twinkling display  stretches from Main Street to Memorial Park and the Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC)  headquarters. Guests can enjoy local food, beer, wine, and entertainment, making it a complete  holiday experience for both locals and visitors.

The Lights Spectacular will run nightly from November 29, 2024, through January 5, 2025, with lights shining brightly from dusk until midnight.
