Top Free Austin Events Happening This Weekend: June 20 through June 24, 2022

This week summer OFFICIALLY starts and there are plenty of ways to kick it off! From late night movie screenings to FREE yoga sessions, here are this week’s top FREE events.

This list contains a mix of family-friendly and adult focused Austin events.

Shley Does Yoga
Monday, June 20th | From 6 to 7:30 p.m. | Batch Craft Beer, 3220 Manor Road

A FREE yoga class at Batch! Class takes place outside under their lovely canopy of trees. Bring your own mat (limited are available for borrowing) and anything else you may need or want to practice.

Tuesday, June 21st | From 11 to 12 p.m. | Lake Travis Library, 1938 Lohmans Crossing

Learn how to use your iPhone to take beautiful photographs of flowers, plants, and trees with Kim Ortiz.

First Day of Summer FREE Ice Cream
Tuesday, June 21st | From 7 to 9 p.m. | Jeni’s Ice Cream, 4616 Triangle Avenue

Members get a FREE scoop on the First Day of Summer, Tuesday, 6/21 from 7 p.m. to close at scoop shops nationwide (excluding Jeni’s market shops). It’s also a glimpse into exciting things to come!

Creative Kids: Police Station Tour & Training Fun
Wednesday, June 22nd | From 2 to 4 p.m. | Georgetown Police Department, 3500 D B Wood Boulevard, Georgetown

Tour the Georgetown Police Department, participate in a police training course, have a nerf gun war and more!

Trivia Night at Easy Tiger East
Wednesday, June 22nd | From 7 to 9 p.m. | Easy Tiger East, 1501 East 7th Street

Each Trivia night lasts 2 hours and is completely free to play with the top 2 teams winning prizes! There are 6 rounds each week with a Final Round with one question from each of the nights’ categories.

Movie Night at Moxy Austin

This week is the screening of the classic: Clueless! Stock up on FREE popcorn while here, all you need is to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair).

Movies in the Park: The Goonies
Thursday, June 23rd | From 9:30 to 11 p.m. | Dick Nichols, 8011 Beckett Road

Movies in the Park is a series of free films brought to you by Austin Parks Foundation. This year, APF is partnering with Rocket to Cinema to bring you free movies in parks all over Austin. Residents and visitors bring their blanket or lawn chairs for a fun and relaxing evening under the beautiful Austin night sky. This week, The Goonies!

Kid Friendly Yoga
Friday, June 24th | From 9 to 10:30 a.m. | Pease Park, 1100 Kingsbury Street

Come stretch, breathe, move, dance, relax, create, and have FUN! These classes will include age-appropriate yoga and movement- including breathing, poses, games, stories, music, relaxation, meditation, and more. Your little yogi will get to practice fine and gross motor skills, social and group skills, and begin to learn mindfulness and breathing/calming tools. Free and open to the public!

FREE Summer Fun Pass
Friday, June 24th | From 11 to 6 p.m. | Spare Time Texas, 1724 FM 685, Pflugerville

Every weekday this summer (6/1-8/31), kids ages 5-14 can enjoy one FREE game of bowling + shoes or one FREE laser tag mission, before 6pm!

Movies in Your Park
Friday, June 24th | From 7:30 to 10 p.m. | Killeen Ampitheater, 2201 E. Veterans Memorial Boulevard, Killeen

Bring your own blanket, chairs, snacks and refreshments for this FREE screening of the movie Luca in Killeen.
