Now through November 19, Austinites can explore nine FREE public art installations at sites around town. It’s TEMPO time! Don’t miss these temporary outdoor artworks by Austin area artists.
Temporary public art plays an important role in attracting new and emerging artists to Austin’s public art program. The Austin Art in Public Places TEMPO program allows artists to explore a range of themes suitable for the outdoor environment and provides the opportunity for innovative, thought-provoking artwork that impacts the way people experience their environment. Now in its fifth year, the TEMPO program features outdoor artworks by local artists sited across Austin in a temporary display. For 2017, nine installations were selected, reflecting a variety of materials and themes. Click here for a printable PDF with information on each work.

Self-Guided Tours
Visitors may embark on self-guided tours using this interactive map or the ArtRides Mobile app which will provide suggested routes and audio of the artists describing their works at each of the stops.

TEMPO Convergence
After being displayed in Austin parklands and other City-owned sites, all nine works will be presented together at Edward Rendon Sr. Park in a collective exhibition, TEMPO Convergence, as part of the East Austin Studio Tour, November 11-19.

November 17 at 11:00 a.m. – Toddler Trot (special tour for families with young children)
November 19 at 4:00 p.m. – Sunday Stroll Closing Event
Convergence Guided Tours will depart from the trailhead in Camacho Activity Center parking lot, 34 Robert T Martinez Jr St, Austin, TX 78702. Parking is free but limited.
