Hey ATX parents! Are you looking for a fun way to teach your kids important business and lifelong learning skills? We’ve got the perfect entrepreneurial learning experience for you. Lemonade Day Austin is coming up on May 5, and you won’t want to miss this.
Hosted by the West Austin Chamber of Commerce, Lemonade Day Austin gets kids from Kindergarten through 5th grade out to lemonade stands all over town for hands-on experience with the skills they’ve learned through the Lemonade Day training program.
Best of all, the kids get to keep their own profits. Last year, the average stand made $224 on Lemonade Day!
Kids registering for Lemonade Day Austin will receive a free interactive online training program tool, Lemonopolis, to teach them the ins and outs of starting a business–from marketing, goal setting, customer service and financial planning and more.
Worried about getting your kid trained in time? No problem! A series of 8 abbreviated “Lemonade Day University” sessions are scheduled around town from 4/22-4/29 where kids and their parents can attend and get registered AND learn the program from trained mentors and get ready-to-go for May 5th. Lemonade Day University events can be found online at: www.lemonadeday.org/austin/events.
On May 5th, Lemonade stands will be set up in parks, neighborhoods and in front of businesses throughout and surrounding Austin. Participants are encouraged to “brand their stand” on the Lemonade Day website and customers are encouraged to get out and support local entrepreneurs by purchasing a cup of lemonade.
Did I mention that it’s free? Yeah, that’s the other thing… Lemonade Day Austin is totally *FREE* for participants! So if you want your child to taste the sweet flavors of entrepreneurial success, it’s never too early to get started. Check out LemonadeDay.org/Austin for more info.
