The Simpsons are back in Austin this halloween. Well, kind of. East Austin staple Nickel City is acting as Moe’s Tavern for the third year in a row!

This year might look a little different than previous years due to the pandemic. Nickel City has set out to follow all the guidelines keeping everyone safe. The on-site services will be table side and feature bar cart services for the first time ever. The bar-cart server will, of course, be decked out in a Simpsons appropriate costume!

Moe’s Tavern/ Nickel City will be serving up Flaming Moe’s and Duff beer. Duh! Or should we say, DOH! The Flaming Moe’s is made with various rums, amaro Montenegro, and a syrup of sorts, all topped with a lime that is lit on fire. If you can’t dine it you can still get a Flaming Moe’s, minus the flaming part. The bar is sure their carryout special, the Frozen Moe, will become world famous! Try it yourself this weekend and let us know if you agree.

Even the on-site food truck Delray Cafe will be participating in this year’s pop-up. Delray Cafe will be serving up a Krusty Burgers inspired menu. The food truck will also be available for on-site or carryout orders.

Moe’s Tavern will be open 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. until Sunday, November 1. The Nickel City crew has worked so hard to make this happen this year so don’t miss this young but beloved Austin tradition.
