Fall weather can be a bit unpredictable here in Austin, so we wanted to give you some indoor options for Halloween fun!

Indoor Trick-Or-Treating And Halloween Fun In Austin

Halloween Party (Round Rock) (RSVP)
October 24, 26, 27  |   Round Rock Public Library, 216 E Main Street, Round Rock
Hop into your costumes and bring treats to share – the Round Rock Public Library is throwing a Halloween bash!  Children ages 18 months and older may join in the fun with a parent/guardian for stories, songs, treats, and Halloween fun. RSVP for this FREE event. There will be three identical parties. Please register for one date: Monday, October 24, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.,Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 10 a.m., or Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. Online registration is required to ensure there is enough space for everyone. Only attending children need to preregister. Please register each child separately. Kids need to come in costume and bring 24 treats (individually wrapped candies, pencils, stickers, etc.) to place in bags.  Parents need to bring finger foods to place on the refreshment tables. Be aware that some party foods may contain allergens. Please label foods containing nut products.

Glow-in-the-Dark-Costume Dance Party
October 27 at 3:30 p.m.  |   APL- Yarborough Branch, 2200 Hancock Dr., Austin
Book circle, recommended for ages 5 and up. Settle in for a story or two and some hands-on activities. FREE!

Hayride, Carnival, and Movie in the Park (Georgetown)
October 27 at 5:30 p.m.  |   San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow Street, Georgetown
The 22nd annual Halloween event on October 27 in San Gabriel Park is sponsored by the Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department. Hayrides start at the Community Center at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales end at 8 p.m. Tickets for children 5 or older and adults are $3. Children under 5 are $2. Trick-or-treat Village is in front of the Community Center and the carnival is inside from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. There’s also a costume contest for the kids. A FREE Movie in the Park (outside) showing of Hotel Transylvania (PG) starts at 6:45 p.m.

Spooky Fiesta
October 27 from 6-8 p.m.  |   South Austin Rec Center, 1100 Cumberland Rd, Austin
Join South Austin Recreation Center for a haunted house, carnival games and costume party. This is a FREE event for all ages. Please make sure to bring your own bag for candy and prizes.

Halloween Carnival

Spooktacular
October 28 from 5-8 p.m.   |   Bullock Texas State History Museum, 1800 N Congress Ave, Austin
Shake your bones at the Bullock Museum’s annual Halloween celebration. Skeletons of all shapes and sizes will find fun creating glow in the dark art, experimenting with “bony” science, and moving their bones to the spooky beats. Plus, explore the Museum’s exhibitions after hours while sporting your latest Halloween costume creation. FREE!

Monster Mash Storytime

Halloween Storytime: Trick-or-Treat for Books!

Gather at BookPeople this Halloween for a storytime filled with new books!  Storytime will be in the amphitheater featuring stories full of monsters, ghosts, and witches (but none of them will be too scary).  Then, after storytime, join the costume parade around the store, which will start on the second floor and end at the front of the store where you’ll get your treat – a free book to bring home! This Halloween Party is perfect for witches and wizards ages 7 and under. Come have a Spook-tacular Halloween at BookPeople! Can’t make the storytime and parade? They’ll be handing out books to trick-or-treaters all day! Kids can stop by any time on October 31st for a special Halloween treat (while supplies last). FREE!
