For 13 years, I measured my children’s growth on the inside of our laundry room door frame. Starting on our firstborn’s first birthday, and ending after our fifth baby’s first steps, I tracked the kids’ ever-changing height with pencil marks and names. There were an awful lot of notations traveling up that door frame… and we had to paint over them all when we moved last spring.
