Playing groovy music is what local band Futon Blonde does best. On their new EP, Solid State, the release’s opening track, “Ain’t That Cute,” pulls listeners in with its attention-grabbing guitar riffs and vocals. With a guitar hook performed by guitarist Mark Janson and guest guitarist Ross Woods, the song has a slight psychedelic, hazy feel that sounds like the group is trying to hold on to Austin’s weirdness. If you like what you hear, you can catch the trio live this weekend (January 14) at Spiderhouse for their EP release show.
