The Austin Business Journal has named its annual Healthiest Employers of Central Texas in a ceremony this morning. These are businesses that ABJ considers to be outstanding in their dedication to workplace wellness. Some of the more recognizable names that were honored with the title include:
Large companies (500+ employees):
Capital Metro
The University of Texas at Austin
Seton Healthcare Family
Medium companies (100-499 employees):
Frost Insurance
A+ Federal Credit Union
Keller Williams Real Estate
Small companies (2-99 employees):
Skillpoint Alliance
Ballet Austin
Capital Area Food Bank
A company like Capital Metro may not be the first place that you’d think of as a healthy workplace, what with those bus drivers sitting all day, but they’ve made great strides in creating a healthy environment for their employees. Their Employee Wellness Program that incorporates technology, innovation, and a holistic approach to wellness has been recognized frequently in their industry.
A quick peek at Keller Williams’ Twitter page shows why they were honored with this award. They clearly care about the health of their employees and community:
When you take care of your physical health, you’ll have more #energy & be more productive in your professional life! https://t.co/D9BgZ9APWa
