During the holiday season, the “all is calm” feeling can be elusive. But not far from the crowded malls and busy city streets of Austin, state parks offer soothing sounds of nature and seasonal fun for everyone.
There are more than 90 state parks scattered across Texas, and plenty of residents aren’t even aware these treasures exist. And a surprising number of state parks (19!) are fairly close to Austin.
