Visit the Library away from the Library on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 5-8 p.m.

They may seem like strange bedfellows, but libraries and breweries are about more than just books and beers, respectively. We’re about creating authentic spaces where the community can share ideas with their fellow humans.

Please join Little Free Libraries, Texas State Library and Archives Commission, Texas Center for the Book, Austin Public Library and Blue Owl Brewing for Books & Beer Happy Hour at 2400 E. Cesár Chávez St. and kick off your SXSWeek right!

Bring your love of libraries and a taste for craft beer and you’re set! Little Free Libraries from all over the nation will be on display. The Library’s human-powered mobile branch, unbound: sin fronteras, will be on hand to sign people up for Library Cards and check out books.

Austin Public Library will be TAPPING local librarians and literary lovers for their best book picks to pair with Blue Owl’s unique and delicious brews. Donations of gently used books are encouraged to help populate a series of new Little Free Libraries being placed throughout Austin-area neighborhoods.

Attendees will also have the chance to win their very own Little Free Library!
