Summer is finally here and we know you’re looking for ways to get your family out of the house. What better way to do just that than by spending time at one of the best Austin parks? Every Monday this summer we’re highlighting an Austin park. This week, we’re taking you to the Barton Creek Greenbelt!

Barton Creek Greenbelt
3755-B Capital of Texas Hwy

With a diverse terrain, Barton Creek Greenbelt is a popular location for adventure-loving locals. Hikers and bikers can be found year-round. During the warmer months it’s perfect for swimming, cliff diving, kayaking, and tubing. The large cliffs that line portions of the Greenbelt make for excellent rock climbing.

It’s a great spot for adventure seeking families and their dogs! With multiple access points, the greenbelt is accessible no matter where you live in Austin.

For info on accessing the trail, or about swimming, fishing and park rules – please visit the City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department website.

Don’t forget to bring along these items: water, sunblock, bug repellent, and snacks.

Please keep in mind that we’re still practicing social distancing and parks can get crowded at various times. Be prepared and be respectful of those around you.
