Looking to spend some quality time with your furry friend this June? Or perhaps you wish to be surrounded by dogs, cats, and even goats? Well, here you go. We’ve rounded up the best pet friendly events happening in Austin all month long. Some are free. Some have fees. Some are for kids. Some are for adults. Because who doesn’t love animals? Mutt Putt 2019
June 1 | at 10 a.m. | Met Center Disc Golf Course, 6600 Metropolis Dr.
The doubles disc golf tournament returns to the Met Center in Southeast Austin benefitting Austin Pets Alive! Registration is $60 per doubles team and includes your donation to APA! round of golf, food and drink (21+), and a player gift bag! Killer prizing for the top 3 teams, 1st place team takes home 3 day GA tickets to ACL Fest 2019. Austin Humane Society Charity Drive Kick-Off
June 1 | from 4 to 8 p.m. | Galaxy Theaters Highland, 6700 Middle Fiskville Rd.
Galaxy Highland is showing our support for the Austin Humane Society for the month of June. Join us June 1st to help us start the month off right. We will have games and community partners giving out prizes. Stop by any team member to make a donation of $2 and receive a Galaxy Theatres and Austin Humane Society wrist band. All other denominations accepted.

Treasure Truck Pup Fest
June 2 | from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. | Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe St.
Amazon’s Treasure Truck is coming to Austin to celebrate all things pup! Meet with various dog-friendly vendors as well as representatives from Austin Pets Alive! and learn how to get involved with our organization. Dogs welcomed and encouraged to attend.

First Sundays Yappy Hour
June 2 | from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | South Congress Hotel, 1603 S. Congress Ave.
There’s no better way to start your day with a (s)bark than on South Congress at First Sunday Yappy Hours! Starting in April, local brands Grocery Pup and Wondercide are cohosting Yappy Hours at South Congress Hotel every first Sunday, through October, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Enjoy Juice Society samples, live music by DJ Cassandra and a variety of fun pop ups from other local pup brands while your furry friend chows down on fresh Grocery Pup and is pampered with swag. See you and your pack there!

Pup Meetup with Austin Humane Society

It’s pawty time: we’re partnered with our friends at Austin Humane Society for another Pup Meetup party at Upstairs at Caroline. All-day Yappy Hour (25% off when you bring your pup). Free Healthy Pet doggie bags. Dog-friendly menu by Healthy Pet. Snuggles with adoptable pups from AHS. Plus, drink while doing good: a portion of bar proceeds will benefit AHS! Summer Kids Series: Storytime
June 4 | from 10 to 11 a.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
All about Dogs! Children will learn about the animal through a silly and sweet storybook. Then, our Rescue Readers will spread out through our shelter to give the animals some love too! This session is recommended for children 8 and younger.

Summer Kids Series: Tail Talks
June 4 | from 2 to 3 p.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
This week will focus on Cat Behavior 101! Why is our cat doing that? How do we get our dog to sit? What baby animals live in Texas? If your child has ever asked any questions along these lines – Tail Talks is for you! Join the fun as we dig a little deeper into the world of dogs, cats and shelter life at the Austin Humane Society. These interactive sessions are best suited for 8-12 year olds and will include special guests each week highlighting topics like Why’s My Cat Doing that: Cat Behavior 101, That’s a Good Pup: Doggy Training Tips, and more!

APA! Kitten Shower
June 8 | from 12 to 5 p.m. | Neonatal Kitten Nursery, 3102 Windsor Rd.
Come to APA!’s Kitten Shower for the Neonatal Kitten Nursery and see how this amazing program saves the lives of the most fragile and helpless rescued kittens. Tour the nursery and enjoy cuddling with adoptable kittens! A donation is required, as this is the Nursery’s only fundraising event for the year. See the Facebook page for more details!

Summer Kids Series: Teddy Bear Surgery
June 8 | from 1 to 3 p.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
The all-time family favorite is back! Through Teddy Bear Surgery, your little one and their favorite stuffed animal can step into our world at Austin Humane Society and a real-life animal clinic. Kids are invited to bring their stuffed animals along for a little TLC as our shelter team helps diagnose and then cure what ails them. One visit with our staff and everyone will be feeling better in no time!

Yappy Hour at the Jackalope
June 9 | from 1 to 4 p.m. | The Jackalope South Shore, 1523 Tinnin Ford Rd.
Do you have a little guy or girl at home who is the center of your universe? A fur baby that you would do just about anything for? If the answer is yes then this event is just for you! The Jackalope is teaming up with Lagunitas Brewing Company for an afternoon dedicated to that special furry someone in your life. We’re talking FREE puppy portraits, a dog treat buffet station, puppy pools for them to cool off in, and live bandanna tie-dyeing because every dog deserves a little flair here and there. And of course for all the puppy parents, cheap drink specials because let’s be honest…you deserve it! A portion of our sales will be donated to Austin Pets Alive! for every Lagunitas beer sold. So come on out and give your loved one an afternoon to remember!

Summer Kids Series: Austin Wildlife Rescue
June 11 | from 10 to 11 a.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
Central Texas is brimming with wildlife. Who better to help your kids explore than our friends at the Austin Wildlife Rescue. We’re teaming up to bring the wild to you! Your young explorers will learn all about baby animals, what to do if you see them, and how they live in the wild. Plus, we’ll have a special guest on hand…Tito the Tortoise! This session is recommended for children 8 and younger.

Cat Art Show
June 13 | from 7 to 9 p.m. | Counter Culture, 2337 Cesar Chavez St.
Group Cat Art Show! Opening reception Thursday, June 13 from 7 to 9p.m. A portion of sales will go to Shadow Cats. ALL ages welcome! This show will be up until early September.

Puppy Yoga Benefitting Cuz I Matter Animal Rescue

Practice your poses and say hello to our adoptable puppies with an hour-long Beginner-friendly yoga session with a Peaceful Warrior Yoga Studio instructor and an extra half hour of puppy playtime for our yogis. You never know, you might meet your newest furry family member! Not required to take a puppy home, but how can you resist?! Space is limited, so secure your spot today! Summer Kids Series: Humane Hero Hour

This week will be all about dogs! Keeping our animals happy and healthy, has never been more fun! The kids will get crafty as they work on making toys that will actually be used by our animals at the shelter! These toys help keep the dogs and cats active and engaged while they wait to find their forever home. Once they make them, they’ll get to see the toys in action. You’ll meet some furry friends along the way. Plus, we’ve got some surprises in store! This session is recommended for children 8 and younger.

APA! #13 Beer Release + Summer Pup Party

Celebrate the release of the ABGB’s 13th APA!APA beer for Austin Pets Alive! ​​This series of single-hopped American Pale Ales gives $1 from every pint sold to promote the adoption & care of Austin Pets Alive! Long Stay Dogs! Come help us shine a spotlight on these great dogs looking for their forever homes with an early summer party! Tuesday nights are BYOV nights, so bring your dog and your dog’s favorite vinyl! We’ll be spinning records outside, weather permitting! So BYOV, and BYOD! They’ll have fun, cool games for you and your pup outside!

Summer Kids Series: Animal Friends Giving Club
June 19 | from 8 to 9 a.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
Join fellow cat lovers for a morning pick me up at our first Coffee & Kittens. We will begin our snuggle session with a brief meet and greet with the AHS leadership team. You’ll learn more about this year’s kitten season and how members of the Animal Friends Giving Club are making an impact in saving the lives of the hundreds of kittens we serve. Enjoy coffee and pastries and have plenty of time for snuggles. It’s the purr-fect way to start your morning and celebrate National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month!

Summer Kids Series: Outdoor Movie Night
June 20 | from 7:30 to 10 p.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
Grab your picnic basket and load up your pack for a family-friendly movie night at the Austin Humane Society. These once a month events will feature an animal-themed movie fit for the entire family. Plus, we’ll have concessions, games, and kid’s activities, too. Movie nights will be held outside on the AHS lawn. The movie will start at sundown. Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to join the fun! (In the event of rain, the movie will be shown inside the AHS Auditorium).

Kitten Yoga Benefiting APA!

Barre and Spar for APA!
June 22 | from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | The Venue ATX, 515 E. 6th St.
Join on June 22 at The Venue ATX for a unique two-part event! Veronica Merrick from The Barre Code Austin will lengthen and strengthen your body with a 30 minute full-body workout! You will work through dynamic and full range movements that will focus on each muscle group. Then, you’ve got to kick and punch your way through a cardio-centered session with Fight Club Austin! Make sure you bring your A-Game because Fight Club Austin’s instructor is going to be leading a fast-paced and high energy workout!! Afterwards, enjoy refreshments from vendors such as Clean Cause, Topo Chico, and Fitjoy.  Part of the proceeds from this event goes towards Austin Pets Alive! Mega Mutt Mondays
June 24 | from 6 to 9 p.m. | Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden, 79 Rainey St.
Your dog’s favorite hang out session is back at Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden! We will have live music, an off-leash dog park, live music by Sophia Johnson, and drink specials from Austin Eastciders! Austin Pets Alive! will be in the garden with their cutest adoptable dogs and all Woof Wurst sales will benefit the center.

Summer Kids Series: Art Workshop
June 25 | from 10 to 11 a.m. | Austin Humane Society, 124 W. Anderson Ln.
When art and animals meet, who knows what will happen! Bring your budding artist and their creativity and we’ll supply the rest. Kids will have plenty of time to get artsy and create a fun animal-themed work of art all while learning about either cats or dogs. This session is recommended for children 8 and younger.

2nd Annual Paws for AKF
June 25 | from 7 to 10 p.m. | San Jac Saloon, 300 E. 6th St.
Join at the 2nd Annual Paws 4 AKF, raising funds for raise some money for The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Austin Pets Alive! while raising a glass to toast friends and family!  Silent Auction, Pet food and toys donations, karaoke, boardgames, and so much fun!! Stay in the loop and purchase tickets here.  Paws for AKF is a Supernatural fan-organized charity event. Paws for AKF was born out of an idea to find a way to help nonprofit organizations while giving its patrons an opportunity to enjoy the amazing city of Austin and the always fun Jack’s Room, located just above San Jac Saloon, in the heart of the city.

Pug Rescue Austin 10th Anniversary Party
June 30 | from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. | Yard Bar, 6700 Burnet Rd.
10 years of puggin’ around! It will be a fun, relaxed get-together to celebrate 10 years of PRA! Don’t forget to bring your adopted PRA pup.
