Most people don’t like being called cheesy, but for John and Kendall Antonelli, “cheesy” is exactly what they want to be.
That’s because John and Kendall own Antonelli’s Cheese Shop, and they’re celebrating their business’s sixth anniversary next week with events all across Austin. They can extend their celebration so far because the cheeses they sell are served in restaurants all over town. Between February 7th and 15th, they plan to give away 200 cheese boards at participating locations (see the list below).
But if you don’t want to go all over town hunting for free Antonelli’s cheeses, stop by their shop at 4220 Duval St. They have over 200 varieties of cheese, but don’t worry about getting a hunk of cheese you won’t like. Their “taste-before-you-buy” concept ensures you’ll go home with the exact cheese you want.
For the Antonellis, selling cheese is a labor of love. “We are thrilled to be celebrating our sixth year in business with an entire week of events that share our passion for cheese and express our appreciation for our customers and partners,” Kendall told Austin.com. “These past six years have been a dream for us and we look forward to many more years of cheese mongering in Austin.”
If you want to develop your cheese IQ, Antonelli’s offers classes at The Cheese House located right across the street from their shop. But first things first: You’ve got to try their cheese!
