2014 Free Comic Book Day

Saturday, May 3, 2014 is Free Comic Book Day! Stores across the country will be giving away comic books to customers on this special day. Find a participating shop near you here.  We’ve highlighted a few local events below. Go prepared to wait in line – free comics are quite popular!

Dragon’s Lair Comics & Fantasy – Saturday, May 3 at 10 a.m. Free comics and festivities throughout the day, while stocks last! Free cotton candy and popcorn! Free face painting, a photo booth, costume contests, and a bounce house for the kids. With special guests Ghostbusters: ATX and The G.I. Joe and Cobra’s Finest! 2438 W. Anderson Lane, Suite B-1, Austin.

Austin Books & Comics – Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. You will be able to choose 10 free comics from a huge selection, all in a huge tent in front of the store. There will be a drawing for a door prize at all Austin Books stores: Austin Books, Guzu Gallery, Outlaw Moon Games & Toys, and the Sidekick Store! There will be special guests in-store. CCP Comics will be sketching for the folks in line and will also have a free comic book! 5002 N. Lamar, Austin.




Austin Public Library – Monday, May 5. Drop by your nearest Austin Public Library location on Monday to get a free comic book. Comics will be available after 3 p.m. while supplies last.
