On Saturday, April 12, 2014, the Texas Cave Conservancy will host the 20th Cave Day at the Avery Ranch Cave, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. This free event offers the opportunity to visit cave preserves and learn about the history of the area. Cavers will assist visitors while in the cave. This educational show cave has lights and a deck. Flashlights or headlamps are not necessary, but they may be fun to have along.
This event will only be held at the Avery Ranch Cave. The Avery Ranch Cave is located at 9420 Morgan Creek Dr, and parking is available at the Avery Ranch tennis court at 9400 Morgan Creek Dr, Round Rock.
Unfortunately, due to funding cutbacks and other considerations, this will be the last Cave Day unless the Texas Cave Conservancy can locate corporate funding or other ways to continue. For more information, visit the Texas Cave Conservancy website.
