Austin’s bar scene is hoppin’ – you see what we did there? Not only is there an abundance of quality beers to try, but the options for breweries you can visit (safely) also keep getting better and better. Here are three new locales in South Austin you need to try!
Check out these new South Austin breweries:
Last Stand Brewing – South Congress
Location: 7601 South Congress, Building 6
Founded in 2015, the original Last Stand Brewing locale is a picturesque destination brewery in the Texas Hill Country with an inviting taproom with a spacious beer garden. Their motto is “big attention to small details” which results in a variety of high quality beers. Now, they have an in-town location making it even easier to get you Last Stand fix! The new taproom offers the same beers as Last Stand’s Dripping Springs taproom as well as food from Southside Flying Pizza. Check their website for their current hours.
Meanwhile Brewing
Location: 3901 Promontory Point Drive
Meanwhile brewery and taproom in South Austin features a soccer field, outdoor stage and private events venue. You can enjoy over 20 delicious rotating beers, wines, ciders, and low-proof cocktails or grab a coffee from the bar, or a bite to eat from one of their three food trucks. So whether you’re clocking out, gearing up, winding down, or passing through, there’s always something going on at Meanwhile worth raising a glass to. Hours and more details here.
Vacancy Brewing
Location: 415 St. Elmo Street
Vacancy Brewing is coming soon to the St. Elmo area of South Austin. Inspired by travel and wanderlust, they say they drew inspiration from treasured destinations for their taproom and each of their three flagship beers. A food truck will also be on site. Keep up with updates on their opening on their Instagram page.
